Poetic Interlude – Dust

Fiery stone of void.
Nothing but water now.

Words and sky and sand
Abound to shake her core,
Yet nothing can
But the air she fails to breathe,

And that she cannot find.

This hemisphere of doubt,
This omniscient panic
Shatters the retina of glass
blown by the grains
underfoot,

Like slicing dust.

So fine they could
Be bruising air.
