Interlude – Darkness Off Duty

When I woke up this morning it didn’t feel like January in my bedroom. It felt like an early May morning with a chill in the air but with clear and healthy signs of spring and life anew. So, I thought to myself, this is going to be a “Day of Light”. That’s possibly the cheesiest thing I’ve ever written, or thought.

Today will feature only people, shows, books, experiences, food and (this is the tricky part), thoughts of an ephemeral or whimsy quality. The frivolous shall reign supreme. Things that aren’t life or death, darkness and blood are getting the day off.

Sunlight and fresh air. Fruity drinks and soul food. Rugby and literary radio shows. All the things I enjoy. I might try write a funny poem.

Let’s see if it works.
